Dr Michelle Hamill is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in mental health and leading psychological services within the NHS. She has extensive experience supporting adults across the lifespan with a diverse range of emotional, physical, and relationship concerns, including difficulties related to life transitions. Michelle provides therapy for anxiety, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and relationship challenges.

 

In addition to her broad clinical expertise, Michelle has specialist skills in working with family members adjusting to caring roles in the context of health changes later in life. She has co-authored two books in this field, reflecting her deep knowledge and compassion for supporting families through complex transitions and the emotional challenges that come with them.

 

She is trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioural Activation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Life-Story Work, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Neuropsychology/Neuro-rehabilitation, and Reminiscence Therapy. This breadth of expertise allows her to tailor therapy flexibly to each client’s needs, ensuring that treatment is both effective and personally meaningful.
