What we can help with

At Hampstead Psychology, we provide evidence-based psychological therapy to support mental health and emotional wellbeing for adults, children, and young people.

Our experienced clinicians offer outpatient psychological assessment and therapy within a primary care setting, supporting people with common mental health and emotional difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma-related difficulties, relationship concerns, and challenges with self-esteem or emotional regulation. Therapy is offered both in person and online, making support accessible and flexible.

Mental health difficulties can affect anyone. While physical health is often prioritised, psychological wellbeing plays an essential role in how we think, feel, and function in everyday life. When emotional or cognitive difficulties persist or begin to interfere with work, relationships, or daily activities, working with a qualified psychologist or therapist can be an effective and meaningful step.

Care at Hampstead Psychology is delivered by experienced associate clinicians working within the governance framework of the service and using well-established, evidence-based psychological approaches. We tailor therapy to the individual, taking into account age, developmental stage, personal history, and current circumstances.

We operate as a primary care psychological service. We are not a crisis or emergency mental health service and do not provide secondary care or specialist risk management. Where someone’s needs fall outside the scope of primary care psychological therapy, we aim to support appropriate onward referral to help ensure safe and timely care.

The examples below highlight some of the common issues we work with, but they are not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether therapy with Hampstead Psychology would be appropriate for you or your child, please feel free to get in touch to discuss your needs.

Contact us

Hampstead Psychology is a primary care service and does not provide crisis or secondary care mental health support. If you, or the person you are enquiring for, is currently experiencing active suicidal thoughts, anorexia, or difficulties such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, or severe personality or conduct disorder (whether current or previously diagnosed), we are not the right service. In these circumstances, please contact your GP or call NHS 111 for appropriate support and guidance.
