Dr Sarah Jane Khalid
20+ years of experience
Dr Sarah-Jane Khalid is a highly qualified Counselling Psychologist, Coach, and Meditation Teacher with extensive experience across NHS services, charitable organisations, and private practice. She brings a broad and integrative skill set to her work, combining evidence-based psychological therapies with coaching and meditation to support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth.
Sarah-Jane works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Her specialist areas include anxiety, stress management, low self-esteem, workplace challenges, dermatological conditions, and women’s health concerns. She has particular expertise in supporting women through fertility challenges, post-natal depression and anxiety, peri-menopause, and menopause. She also enjoys working with clients from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities, bringing cultural sensitivity and an appreciation of the nuanced challenges that may arise around identity, belonging, and wellbeing.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and flexible, drawing on evidence-based models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Behavioural Activation, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Sarah-Jane adapts these approaches carefully to each client’s needs, whether the focus is on reducing distress, strengthening coping strategies, or fostering longer-term growth and self-understanding.
Alongside her psychological training, Sarah-Jane has developed specialist expertise in meditation teaching. She has completed training with the British School of Meditation and the Chopra Center in the United States, and integrates meditation practices and elements of positive psychology into her therapeutic work where appropriate. This allows clients to develop practical tools for emotional regulation, clarity, and balance, alongside psychological insight.
Clients often describe Sarah-Jane as warm, empowering, and insightful. She offers a safe, supportive space where people feel able to explore difficulties openly, reconnect with their strengths, and build confidence and self-worth. Her holistic approach ensures therapy addresses both immediate challenges and longer-term wellbeing.
