Dr Shabnam Hariri

20+ years of experience

Dr Shabnam Hariri works with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, OCD, health anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, sleep difficulties, relationship difficulties, women’s health concerns, diabetes, ADHD, and the psychological impact of long-term health conditions. She supports clients whose wellbeing may be affected by health, identity, confidence, relationships, or life pressures, helping them develop clearer and more effective ways of managing difficulties and moving forward.

Shabnam is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She provides high-quality psychological therapy to individuals and couples, drawing on extensive training and senior-level experience to support a wide range of emotional, psychological, relational, and health-related difficulties. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice and shaped by a careful understanding of each client’s needs, goals, and circumstances.

Shabnam has particular experience working with the relationship between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and identity. She supports clients with chronic pain, diabetes, dermatological and women’s health concerns, health anxiety, sleep problems, public speaking anxiety, self-confidence, and the emotional strain that can come with managing long-term conditions or significant life pressures. Her work with couples also allows her to support relationship health, communication, and the patterns that can develop when stress, illness, or emotional difficulties affect a partnership.

Her therapeutic work is integrative and flexible, drawing on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Couples Counselling. She tailors therapy carefully to each client or couple, supporting both symptom reduction and deeper, more sustainable change.

Shabnam’s style is warm, collaborative, clear, and clinically grounded. She offers a discreet and carefully tailored approach for individuals and couples who want therapy to be thoughtful, focused, and practically useful. She helps clients clarify what they want to change, understand the patterns keeping difficulties in place, and develop effective psychological strategies they can apply beyond sessions. Her work supports clients to strengthen confidence, improve relationships, manage health-related distress, and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
