Dr Reenee Singh

30+ years of experience

Dr Reenee Singh is a highly experienced Consultant Family and Couples Systemic Psychotherapist who works with adults, couples and families across a wide range of emotional, relational and psychological difficulties. She supports people facing relationship distress, family conflict, anxiety, stress, life transitions, trauma, identity-related struggles, and the complex emotional pressures that can arise within couple and family life. Her approach is warm, thoughtful and deeply systemic, helping clients to understand the patterns, histories and dynamics that may be shaping their difficulties, while opening up new possibilities for change, connection and resilience.

Reenee brings exceptional depth and seniority to her work. She has held a number of influential leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Family Therapy and Systemic Practice in the UK, Consultant Systemic Psychotherapist and Research Specialist at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, Visiting Professor at the University of Bergamo, Founding Director of the London Intercultural Couples Centre, and Director of the Child and Family Practice in London. Her career reflects decades of work at the highest level of clinical practice, service development, professional leadership and systemic thinking.

Alongside her clinical work, Reenee has made a significant contribution to the development of couple and family therapy through teaching, supervision, research and writing. She has taught and trained nationally and internationally for many years, speaking at major professional conferences and delivering workshops and teaching across the UK, Europe, Asia and beyond. Her teaching has included work with masters and doctoral students, qualified clinicians, social workers and multidisciplinary teams, and she has been closely involved in shaping systemic training and research culture within some of the field’s most respected institutions.

She is also a widely published author and editor whose work has explored couple relationships, culture, family life, supervision, difference and the lived complexity of relationships in a changing world. She has published books, book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles, co-edited a major volume of the Handbook of Systemic Family Therapy, and served as Editor of the Journal of Family Therapy, helping to expand its reach and influence internationally. Her work reflects both intellectual rigour and a longstanding commitment to thoughtful, humane and culturally informed practice.

What makes Reenee’s work distinctive is the combination of clinical wisdom, relational depth and cultural intelligence that she brings to therapy. She is particularly skilled at helping people think about their difficulties in context: not only in terms of symptoms or conflict, but also in relation to history, family, identity, values, social worlds and the meanings people carry in their closest relationships. This allows her to work with complexity in a way that feels containing, perceptive and transformative.
