Dr Jo Stuart

25+ years of experience

Dr Jo Stuart works with older teenagers and adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, health anxiety, chronic pain, stress, relationship difficulties, and the pressures that can come with demanding or public-facing lives. She has particular experience supporting C-level executives, consultants, professionals, and individuals in the public eye, offering a highly confidential and discreet therapeutic service for clients who are looking for expert psychological care with careful attention to privacy, complexity, and professional context.

Jo is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She has worked extensively across the lifespan and brings significant clinical, supervisory, and training expertise to her private practice. Alongside her client work, she regularly trains and supervises other psychologists, reflecting the depth of her experience and her commitment to high-quality, evidence-based psychological care.

Jo works with a broad range of difficulties, including anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, health anxiety, chronic pain, stress, and relationship challenges. She also has specialist expertise in working with people from diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. Her experience allows her to work thoughtfully with clients whose difficulties may be shaped by personal identity, professional responsibility, health concerns, relationships, family life, or longstanding emotional patterns.

Her therapeutic work is informed by extensive training across evidence-based models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Behavioural Activation, Exposure and Response Prevention, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Couples Counselling, Solution-Focused Therapy, Life-Story Work, and Reminiscence Therapy. This integrative background allows her to tailor therapy carefully to each client’s needs, values, and circumstances, offering work that is structured, thoughtful, and clinically grounded.

Jo’s style is compassionate, professional, collaborative, and clear. She helps clients clarify what they want to change, understand the patterns that are keeping difficulties going, and develop practical psychological strategies they can apply beyond sessions. Whether clients are navigating everyday pressures, longstanding anxiety, trauma, health-related distress, relationship strain, or more complex personal and professional challenges, her focus is on helping them move forward with greater resilience, clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.
