Dr Caroline Taylor

15+ years of experience

Dr Caroline Taylor works with adults and teenagers experiencing trauma, anxiety, low mood, grief, eating-related difficulties, psychosexual difficulties, and patterns that feel difficult to understand or change. She has particular expertise in trauma, including childhood trauma, sexual assault, multiple or complex traumatic experiences, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Her work helps clients reduce the continuing impact of painful experiences, understand the patterns that are keeping distress in place, and develop clearer, more effective ways of moving forward.

Caroline is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of clinical practice. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has completed advanced post-doctoral training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Alongside her private practice, she has held the role of Clinical Lead within a large private organisation, reflecting her depth of clinical experience, senior judgement, and ability to support high-quality psychological care across complex presentations.

Caroline has extensive experience working with anxiety-related difficulties, including obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, and generalised anxiety. She also has additional training and clinical experience in grief and bereavement, eating-related difficulties, and psychosexual therapy. This breadth allows her to work thoughtfully with clients whose difficulties may overlap, feel private or sensitive, or have developed over time in response to earlier experiences, relationships, loss, or stress.

Her therapeutic work is informed by a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioural Activation, Exposure and Response Prevention, Narrative Therapy, and Psychosexual Therapy. She draws flexibly on these models to develop a clear shared understanding of each client’s difficulties and to shape therapy around their goals, rather than using a fixed or one-size-fits-all approach.

Caroline’s style is transparent, collaborative, warm, and pragmatic. She offers a discreet and carefully tailored approach for clients who want therapy to be focused, purposeful, and clinically thoughtful. She helps clients clarify what they want to change, understand what is getting in the way, and develop practical psychological strategies they can apply beyond sessions. Clients often value her ability to combine compassion with clarity, offering both emotional understanding and concrete direction that supports resilience, confidence, and meaningful change.
